Why should I leave the Mormons?
The Mormon Church stores a lot of sensitive information about you - eg your name, address, date of birth, telephone number if you have had children during membership, as well as your children's names and dates of birth. In addition, church data such as your baptism date, dates of temple ceremonies, attendance records are kept, members and missionaries are given your data to visit you and write you letters. You will be talked about in church meetings about how to get you back into the Church. When your children turn 8, the church will attempt to contact you to baptize your children.
The church has issued instructions on how parishioners should find out your address etc. in order to contact you.
Here onelinkto the English site of the Church where these are listed.
It is described that you should drive to the last known address and ask the neighbors if you no longer live there. You should contact your friends and relatives to find out your current address, if your phone number is wrong, contact your telephone company and ask for the new number, write a letter to the old address and if you move ask for the new address, at the registration office yours get current address, search for you on Google, try to locate you on Facebook and social media, etc.
Therefore, it is important to leave the Mormon Church when you no longer identify with it.
